About Nancy Kalish, CHC

An award-winning journalist, Nancy Kalish has written hundreds of articles on health and other subjects for national and international publications.

She is also a certified health coach, working with individuals and groups who are struggling with low energy, cravings, weight problems, and other wellness issues. She also specializes in corporate wellness programs and frequently gives workshops on a variety of subjects.

In addition, Nancy is a restaurant consultant and healthy menu coach, helping clients revamp their menus and better serve health-conscious guests, including those on gluten-free, vegan, low-sodium, raw, and other special diets.

Nancy's articles have appeared in O Magazine, Prevention, Parade Magazine, Real Simple, More, Men's Journal, Redbook, Health, Self, Fitness, Readers Digest, Ladies Home Journal, Good Housekeeping, Parenting, Parents, ChargeUpForGoodHealth.com, IdeasThatSpark.com, YourFamilyToday.com, NYTimes.com, The New York Daily News, The Washington Post, The Seattle Post-Intelligenger, and many other publications. She has also contributed several Op-Eds to The New York Times. In addition, she's the coauthor of The Case Against Homework: How Homework Is Hurting Our Children and What We Can Do About it (Crown, 2006), and has authored or coauthored several other books.

A former senior editor at Cosmopolitan, Child and other magazines, Nancy has also been the Mommy Strategies columnist for Redbook, Learning Curve columnist for Working Mother, and Healthy Families columnist for Selecciones (the Spanish-language version of Reader’s Digest).

TV and RADIO APPEARANCES: Nancy is a frequent guest on TV and radio. She has appeared on The Today Show, CBS Evening News, ABC Eyewitness News, Good Day New York, Fox & Friends , The Brian Lehrer Show on NPR, The Dennis Prager Show (syndicated), The Mitch Albom Show (syndicated), The Drew Mariani Show on Relevant Radio, The Parent Coach with Connie Sinclair, and many other radio programs from coast to coast. Nancy is a graduate of Princeton University and has a masters degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She is also a graduate of the Professional Program at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and a holistic health coach certified by Purchase College, SUNY and The American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). She is also a former adjunct professor at New York University's Graduate School of Journalism. She lives with her husband and daughter in Brooklyn, New York.
